What is MDID 2?
The MDID 2 is software with tools for managing digital image collections and tools for integrating digital images into the teaching and learning process. You can try out MDID 2 with the online demo.

What are the MDID 2 server requirements?
MDID 2 is an ASP.NET web application using IIS on Windows 2000/2003 Server, or Apache 2 with Mono 1.0 on Linux. Supported databases are MySQL 4.1 and Microsoft SQL Server 2000. The application, database, and images may reside on different servers.
What are the MDID 2 client requirements?
Supported web browsers include Internet Explorer 5 or higher, Mozilla, and Safari. Flash 7 plugin required.
The ImageViewer 1 application runs on Windows 98/ME/2000/XP and Max OS 9.
The ImageViewer 2 application, which is not yet released, will run on Windows 98/ME/2000/XP and Mac OS X.
Is technical support is available for MDID 2?
The MDID development team at JMU provides some technical information through this website, but is not able to provide individual technical support. There is an active MDID user community that shares information through the MDIDUSERS-L listserv. The JMU team members are participants in the listserv discussions and share in answering questions.
